Quality Assurance Engineer
Position 1 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our client, a growing engineering and manufacturing company. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated Quality team, supporting product quality, manufacturing processes, customer requirements and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Quality Department, ensuring products, materials, processes and documentation meet company, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Create, review and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and inspection records.
  • Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective and preventative actions.
  • Investigate quality issues and customer complaints using Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone/Ishikawa techniques.
  • Carry out pre-test, pre-paint and final inspections, including witnessing and signing off required testing.
  • Support internal, supplier, customer and third-party ISO audits.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and suppliers to improve processes and reduce defects, rework and recurring quality issues.
  • Support PFMEA, process mapping, work instructions and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Review supplier documentation, material certificates, manufacturing records and traceability requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain customer-specific quality documentation and technical document packs.

Requirements:

  • BTEC Level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with NCRs, corrective actions and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Knowledge of 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa or similar problem-solving methods.
  • Experience with ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Good understanding of engineering/manufacturing processes and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, auditing, PFMEA and process mapping would be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability and excellent communication skills.
