Print Operator / FCT 6 Months / Bungay / Salary £26,000 p a

Position 1 Recruitment are seeking for a Print Operator to join a dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to advance their career while contributing to a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

This is a Full time Position: Working Hours

  • Contracted: 37.5 hours per week
  • Actual average: about 42 hours per week (because of shift patterns)

Day Shifts (12 hours, 6am–6pm):

  • Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday

Night Shifts (12 hours, 6pm–6am):

  • Shift Pattern 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday + every other Saturday
  • Shift Pattern 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday + every other Saturday

As a Print Operator, you will be responsible for applying designs to the edges of books using advanced inkjet technology and specialised software. You will work both independently and collaboratively within a team to produce high quality prints with maximum efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Digital inkjet printing.
  • Manual handing of books.
  • Knowledge of the software used when edge-printing.
  • Technical knowhow of inkjet printing.
  • Basic colour knowledge and how to adjust if required.
  • Ability to follow a work instruction to ensure correct detail.
  • Continuous checking and monitoring of quality.
  • To be responsible for the good housekeeping of your work area. making sure it is always kept clean and tidy.
  • Observe and comply with all Health & Safety regulations in line with company policies and procedures.
  • To act on any reasonable request as instructed by your Shift Manager.

The successful Print Operator will have experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a strong focus on quality, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work. You will be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently are essential. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred, and familiarity with production processes or technical equipment would be advantageous. Full training will be provided to support your development in the role.
