Salary: £12.21 per hour + Overtime (39-hour working week)

Working pattern:
Full-time, permanent position
Monday–Thursday: 07:30–16:30
Friday: 07:30–12:30

Position 1 Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Element Preparation Operative to join a well-established engineering manufacturer in Watton. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who is organised, safety-conscious, and eager to learn new processes. Full training will be provided, including sealant application and equipment use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, Fire & Environmental policies and procedures
  • Follow Risk, COSHH, and Manual Handling assessments at all times
  • Maintain compliance with company 5S and Lean manufacturing standards
  • Catalogue and record heating elements in spreadsheets and store as required
  • Load elements into ovens following work instruction WI 08/01
  • Unload and hang elements ready for the sealing process
  • Apply sealant and silicone to elements accurately and consistently
  • Use a mega meter to check and log insulation resistance (IR) readings
  • Record element locations and manage spare/scrap element records
  • Liaise with Chargehands to prepare for upcoming projects
  • Perform quality checks in line with work instruction WI/07/05
  • Supervise and maintain cleanliness of the preparation and storage areas, especially at week’s end

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal communication and the ability to follow clear instructions
  • Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to learn – full training in sealing and other processes will be provided
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
