Overview

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) to join our client’s team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and experienced engineer with strong skills in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing both industrial electrical and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical production equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on PLCs, drives, motors, and control systems
  • Maintain and repair conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, and drive systems
  • Work with inverters, control panels, and industrial wiring systems
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and fault records
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed, promoting safe systems of work
  • Provide flexibility for on-call duties when required

Requirements

  • Qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
  • Proven experience in heavy industrial maintenance (multi-skilled preferred)

Strong knowledge of:

  • PLC fault finding (basic programming desirable)
  • Inverters and drives
  • Motors and control systems
  • Industrial wiring and control panels
  • Conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Bearings, gearboxes, and drive systems
  • Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety protocols, including:
  • Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO)
  • Safe Isolation
  • Permit to Work systems
  • Working at Height
  • Confined Space awareness
  • ATEX/DSEAR (desirable)
