Design Engineer
Design Engineer/Norfolk/Permanent – up to £40,000k per annum depending on experience
Position 1 Recruitment are looking for Design engineer to join our client, manufacturing site based in Norfolk. Our client is a reputable producer of a bespoke product, due to the ongoing growth, they are looking for an experienced Design engineer to join their engineering team.
What’s on offer:
- Full time, permanent position 08:30 – 17:30 Monday- Thursday and Friday Half day.
- Option of Hybrid work after completion of probation period
- Salary: £30,000.00 – £40,000.00

The role:
Reporting to the Head of Mechanical Engineering, Design engineer will be responsible for the design and development of specialist equipment, including producing engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Produce Bills of Materials and technical documentation
- Ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulations
- Carry out design calculations and review documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers
- Manage workload effectively to meet project deadlines and KPIs

About you:
- Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in mechanical design, ideally within specialist equipment, heaters, pressure systems, or hazardous area equipment
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D CAD software)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, design calculations, and technical documentation
