Diesel Engineer

Diesel Fitter – Grimsby – Full time permanent

We are working with a well-established client, who are seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to join their Engine Service Team.

The role involves everything from ongoing service contracts to emergency breakdowns. This is an excellent opportunity for HGV/plant fitters seeking to transition into the industrial, marine, and offshore sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair, and overhaul of diesel engines, including fault-finding and diagnostics.
  • Coordinate with Service Co-ordinators to source and procure replacement parts and accessories.
  • Undertake diagnostic investigations to identify and resolve issues.
  • Install and commission engines and associated equipment.

 Qualifications & Skills:

Essential:

  • Proven experience working on diesel engines (Cummins, CAT, Perkins, MTU, Detroit, and Volvo Penta)
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capabilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on marine engines, diesel generators, and associated components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/schematics.
  • Experience with generators and associated electrical components

Job Details:

Location: Grimsby
Working Hours: 40 hours/week, 07:00-15:30 Monday-Friday
